Basic equipment consists of a hockey stick, a hockey ball, shin guards, sports shoes (no spikes) and a mouth guard.
Goal Keepers have a bit more equipment which includes helmet, shoulder pads, neck guard, arm pads, leg guards, kickers and sports shoes.
Haven't played for a while? We have plenty of members who can loan you a hockey stick or shin pads if needed.
Bring your own mouth guard though! We also have a club uniform that comprises of yellow socks, blue shorts/skirt/skort and a club shirt.
We recommend having a mouthguard that is constructed and fitted by a dental professional because it undoubtedly provides the best protection for your teeth.
However you can choose to use an over-the-counter mouth guard (boil & bite) until you are ready to get a proper mouth guard fitted. Most health insurance providers will provide coverage for custom-made mouth guards.
If you are just starting out then normal sports sneakers are fine. Once you get more into the game you may want to purchase special hockey shoes which have a better grip to stop you slipping around on turf or grass as much.
Hockey is a winter sport and is able to be played in the rain. However, if there is torrential rain and/or a chance of lightning, games or practice may be postponed or cancelled.
We have a team that will match your skill level. Haven't played for 5 years? Not a problem. 10 years? No worries. We encourage participation at all levels of hockey and will find the right team for you.
